Prices
The prices advertised for room reservations include accommodation and breakfast as described on our website.
Booking, cancellation and no shows
When booking direct with us we will secure and confirm your booking with us at the point of booking by validating a payment card and storing the encrypted card details securely within the Stripe system.
If you need to cancel your stay with us, please contact us straight away. Cancellations made more than 10 days before your stay will not incur a fee. For cancellations made after this time (regardless of reason)you will be liable for the full cost of your stay. You can only consider your reservation as cancelled once we have acknowledged your communication of cancellation in writing. If you do not show up for your reservation the full cost of your stay is due and will be taken from the payment card registered with the booking. For bookings through third party/online travel agents more stringent cancellation and payment policies apply as represented on their websites.
We would recommend that you take out suitable holiday insurance/booking protection to cover you in the event of a cancellation or not being able to arrive for your booking.
X Cover Booking Protection
When making a booking direct with us we have provided the facility for you to obtain X Cover booking protection which covers certain circumstances which could render you being unable to attend for your booking. The full details of this can be viewed here. It is your responsibility to check that the cover provided by X cover is suitable for your requirements and you comply with the all the requirements stipulated by X Cover. We do not provide advice or guidance in this regard.
Arrival and departure
Check-in is between 4pm and 7pm. No entry will be permitted outside of these times subject to below.
We will do our best to meet guests needs and arrange check-in outside of these times if we can accommodate them but this must be arranged in advance. You must not arrive at the premises seeking entry if this has not been arranged even just to drop bags off.
Check out time is strictly by 10am prompt on the day of your departure.
Payment
For bookings made direct with ourselves payment will be due on the day of your arrival and can be made by cash, bank transfer, Goodwin House gift vouchers or processed by ourselves using the card you have provided on our system. The only exception to this is if you take out X Cover Booking Protection and in these circumstances full payment for your booking and the X cover premium will be required at the point of making your booking.
All major national and international debit and credit cards are accepted with the exception of Diners Club and American Express. If paying by bank transfer our bank details will be provided to you upon arrival and we require payment to have been received in our bank account by the following day so that we can check the payment has been processed prior to your departure.
Gift Vouchers
Goodwin House gift vouchers are available for purchase in denominations of £10, £20, £50 and £100. They are only valid for 12 months from the date of purchase and can only be redeemed when making a booking direct with ourselves. Gift vouchers are non refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Parking
Goodwin House does not have car or bike parking facilities for guests. Free on street parking is available on the streets around Goodwin House.
Children
We are sorry but we only accept adults aged 18 and over. Children are not permitted. Reservations are only accepted from those 18 years and older.
Smoking
Goodwin House is a strictly non-smoking establishment. If any evidence of smoking is found during the stay guests will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be given. In addition to this an excess of £150 will be charged to cover the cost of deep cleaning of the bedroom. Additional costs may also be levied covering loss of trade if the bedroom cannot be offered to subsequent guests plus any costs associated with assisting guests to relocate and costs incurred by them in that process. The subsequent terms will still be applied if evidence of smoking in the bedroom is found after the guest has departed from their stay and we will notify you immediately of our findings.
Hot food
Should you wish to bring takeaway food into the premises, Goodwin House are able to provide the dining room for your convenience. Hot food is not permitted in your bedroom. No cooking is permitted in bedrooms. If evidence of cooking is found in the bedroom guests will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be given.
Dogs
We do not allow guests dogs (or other animals) to stay at Goodwin House. If anyone has been found to bring an animal onto the premises the guest will be asked to leave immediately and no refund will be provided. Any associated costs with cleaning due to the animal will be levied plus any associated costs covering loss of trade if the room cannot be offered to subsequent guests plus any associated costs incurred by them in that process.
Non-availability of accommodation
We would only cancel your reservation or shorten the term of your reservation if your accommodation became unavailable for reasons or circumstances beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation at Goodwin House. If this was not possible, or unacceptable we will not be liable for any costs in this regard. If this occurs, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible relative to the circumstances that have occurred.
We would recommend that you take out suitable holiday insurance that covers you in the event of a cancellation in these circumstances.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care when staying at Goodwin House as you will be held responsible and liable for any breakages and damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report any spills, damages or breakages as soon as they occur. We may need to make a charge for repair or replacement if the damage or breakage is significant. Additional costs may also be levied covering loss of trade if the bedroom cannot be offered to subsequent guests plus any costs associated with assisting guests to relocate and costs incurred by them in that process
A charge of £20 will be levied for replacement room keys should the need arise.
Liability
Goodwin House does not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions. Items left in the drying room, guest fridge or any shared areas are at your own risk.
Privacy Policy
Any data collected during the course of your booking may be held on computer. With your permission we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers. We will never share your details with third parties.
Complaints
Goodwin House aims to ensure your stay exceeds your expectations and is great in every way, however there may be occasions where we are unable to satisfy our guests needs, wants or tastes.
We would request that you raise your dissatisfaction immediately and allow Goodwin House the opportunity to resolve any issues immediately. We welcome all types of feedback and take every opportunity to improve our services and get better every day.
