Liz and Chris were great hosts providing an excellent very friendly service in their lovely guest house. Before we even arrived Chris called to make sure we were aware of planned M6 road closures which would possibly have impacted our journey and arrival time, a very thoughtful touch!
Our room was everything we had expected, comfortable, spotlessly clean and tidy. Breakfast was varied, freshly cooked and delicious. A very enjoyable stay and one we will happily repeat.

Liz and Chris are very welcoming, warm and friendly and offer a delicious and wide ranging breakfast menu, and accommodating of dietary preferences. The room was spotless, very comfortable and had everything I needed, included a great view of Blencathra!

Goodwin House is only a short walk from the town centre, but situated in a quiet part of town.
Liz and Chris (and Poppy the dog) are great hosts and always provide a warm welcome. There is a good breakfast menu to choose from and the homemade biscuits (and mince pies on this trip) are a nice touch.
Keswick is a lovely Lake District town with some wonderful shops. There are walks for all abilities from the front door for those who would rather not drive further out. Goodwin House has been my first choice for accommodation whenever I visit the area.

Great cosy guest house , super friendly owners and will go above and beyond to please guests , parking on the street, breakfast was great loads to choose from including fruits , yogurt s, and full cooked breakfast, you can also pre order a packed lunch for the next day ( extra charge ) , room was super super clean , nice big king bed with a proper down duvet ( very comfortable and slept like a baby , 2 chairs in our room ( Derwentwater room) so we could both sit properly and watch tv at night , coffee in the room and homemade biscuits , really big shower and super modern bathroom suite with toiletries included , cannot recommend this guest house enough as I’ve said before for great owners and fab guesthouse 5stars. Guest house is also very close to the centre approx 3/4 min walk.

Chris and Liz were excellent hosts; very friendly and really attentive. Room was spotless, breakfast a high point, and location perfect, just a few minutes walk from the town and the lake.

Such a fabulous bed and breakfast, Liz and Chris were great. The rooms were lovely and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was particularly good, lots of choice and great quality. Can't wait to go back! Thank you.

Liz & Chris both welcomed me upon arrival. The guest house is conveniently located in the town centre and is in a quiet residential area (I couldn't believe how quiet it was, given the location). My room was well suited for my two night stay, with a small and modern looking en-suite shower room. The guest house provided a drying room for any wet clothing and muddy boots.
Liz was very knowledgeable about the area and provided me with useful tips for getting around the town and down to Derwent Water.
On offer for breakfast were cereals or porridge, but I opted for the full English which you can select from a menu the night before. Cooked to perfection!! In addition, I took the packed lunch that was on offer, useful for my days' walking. This was charged extra and even included a slice of homemade cake (delicious!!)
I would stay here again if returning to Keswick and I highly recommend the guest house. Liz and Chris being perfect hosts.

Excellent rooms and marvellous breakfast served nice and early. No problems with car parking and 5 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick.

We love staying at Goodwin house and have been back 3 out of the last 4 years. The rooms are spacious and have fabulous views. There's plenty of choice for breakfast, just remember to place your order for hot food the night before. There is often homemade cake on an afternoon, the lemon drizzle was lovely.
Hosts couldn't be more helpful. Will definitely be back.

We stayed a whole week and enjoyed every day of it. Liz and Chris are fabulous hosts and took great care of us. The freshly cooked breakfast is a real treat (try the salmon with scrambled eggs - and the self made granola!), the rooms are nicely prepared with comfy beds, roadside parking never was a problem, and it is only a stone’s throw from the city centre. Superb Stay. Such an excellent guest house! I have stayed in Keswick a few times before and this place is definitely one of new favourites. The hosts are such lovely, welcoming & friendly people who go into great detail about your stay and also the breakfast options. Absolutely loved the breakfast every morning also had a selection of fresh fruits, cereals, jams, yoghurt, juice and much more to choose from to start your day off. I stayed in a single room which for 1 person I had all the space I needed and a lot of storage with that, the bed was comfortable and I had a nice view over the garden & towards Latrigg. The en-suite I believe was described and compact which I suppose but was still more than enough room for me to do what I needed and also get in & out of the shower comfortably. Was also stocked up with lovely local products to use. Such a great central location 5 minute walk to the town centre and a great base to get off for the day walking which is what I did. Managed to find a parking spot right outside which was handy I never tend to move my car once I am there so was happily there for the 3 nights I stayed. I would 100% stay here again!!

Great centrally located guest house. Clean comfortable rooms. Wide variety for breakfast and good quality. Had a packed lunch which was substantial. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable hosts.

Had a fabulous 2 night stay at this wonderful B & B. Liz and Chris were very welcoming and informative. The attention to detail everywhere was superb. Spotless bathroom and bedroom, great breakfast and just all round superb. Really loved my stay there.

We stayed here for three nights recently. Very friendly and welcoming hosts, Chris and Liz. A really lovely couple.. Lots of local knowledge!! The room and bathroom were a bit compact but had everything we needed.. The toiletries were lovely.. Breakfast excellent...a great location, only a few minutes into town.. Definitely recommend. A very good place to stay when in Keswick. Everything nearby. Just a few minutes walk into city centre. Nice and clean room and good breakfast.

A return visit to a Great B&B in a very good location a few minutes walk from the town, park and lake. Free on street parking is available nearby.
Our room, Derwentwater, was spacious with a couple of chairs, a very comfortable bed and a wardrobe.
Tea or coffee and biscuits with a kettle are in the room. Fresh milk is in a small fridge in the dining room and there are little bottles so you can take it to your room.
There is a large mirror and a hairdryer for you to use. There is also a small smart TV.

The ensuite has lovely local products to use. The walk-in shower has a rainfall head and normal head. The towels are large and soft with a heated towel rail to hang them on.
The room is on the corner of the house on the first floor so you get views from 2 directions and makes it a nice light airy room. There is a drying room available if the weather isn't favourable.

The breakfast menu has a good variety of choice. There is a lovely fresh fruit salad every morning to go with various cereals including homemade granola, Greek yoghurt or milk. The cooked breakfast, ordered in advance, uses good quality local ingredients and is very tasty. You can change your choice daily if you want any of the other cooked options. There were good options for vegetarians and vegans.
The jams, for the toast, are local and were very nice if you still have room.
There is the option to buy a packed lunch and dinner is offered a couple of times a week.

Relaxing stay, Lovely guest house, very clean and homely. Hosts are fantastic, very friendly and welcoming.The breakfast was very good and there was a lot of choice.We opted for the evening meal for two of the three nights we were there and our meals were homemade and very good value. The room was clean and fresh , cannot fault it. Will definitely be making a return visit.

Liz and Chris were so friendly and very helpful. The guesthouse is spotless and has every amenity. Great choices for breakfast as well. Add to that a great location with the town on the doorstep.

Perfect position for the town centre. Recommend Goodwin House, we keep coming back and intend to be back again later in the year. The hosts always take a genuine interest in your stay, basically friendly and informative. A friendly atmosphere, we always find parking easy.

We have stayed at Goodwin House several times and it is always our first call when looking for accomodation in Keswick. Varied choice for breakfast including gluten free options. Very comfortable bed. Lovely, friendly and thoughtful hosts.

My daughter and I have stayed in a lot of B&Bs in Keswick (!) and Goodwin House is right up there at the top of our list! Liz and Chris have created a beautiful and welcoming guest house. The central location is ideal and the breakfasts are FABULOUS!

The room was lovely very clean and tidy. Breakfast was great both owners are friendly and very welcoming would recommend a stay anytime. Great location near the bars restaurants shops cafes and Lake in Keswick in a nice area. Good car parking on the street

Very welcoming and cosy B&B. We stayed here for 3 days for a walking trip and was treated to a lovely clean room with a very comfy bed and fabulous filling breakfast. Complete with a drying room and complimentary cake, this place is perfectly suited for walkers.

Stayed 2 nights at Goodwin Guest House this November. The hosts Liz & Chris are wonderful and very welcoming. Guest house is very cozy and my room had the best view to the mountains! Breakfast was superb and the homemade biscuits left in the room was such a nice treat with a cup of hot chocolate!

My wife and have just spent 7 weeks traveling the north of England and Scotland, this was the best of the many accommodations we stayed. Great breakfasts and wonderful hosts. Highly recommended

Absolute gem of a B & B - wonderful food-everything was clean and well maintained and the hosts were very friendly. Homemade biscuits topped up regularly in the rooms and occasional cake! Lovely to have a drying room for wet clothes and boots. Nice toiletries in the rooms. Can't fault it!

Stayed here for two nights and wish we had longer. Lovely guest house a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. The hosts Chris and Liz made us feel so welcome and at home. We stayed in the ‘catbells’ room which was very clean and cosy. The breakfast was delicious using locally sourced products and Liz makes homemade biscuits for the rooms, a lovely touch. We hope to stay here again soon

Just back from a 3 night stay in Keswick at Goodwin house. Room immaculate, food fabulous and Chris and Liz very hospitable and accommodating. Great location in Keswick too. Parking easy enough. Easy to book and communication timely. Town centre few minutes away and is great for different shops. Derwent Lake is 10 mins away and the area is of course beautiful to explore. Would definitely recommend to others to stay at Goodwin house.

We have just had a lovely three night break at Goodwin House. It’s amazing.

The hosts Liz and Chris can’t do enough to help you. Whether that’s tips for walks, shortcuts through the town, bus routes, road closures you name it they know it.

The accommodation is lovely and comfortable. The food and service for breakfast is top notch. Anything you want can be catered for.

Liz is attentive to your needs at breakfast but not in your face, it is just right.

The location is fab too, you are right in town.

The house location is perfect, close to the main street and bus stops on a very calm street. The breakfasts made by Liz and Chris are really good with lots of options. The house itself is very nice and room was amazing, with great en-suite and everything you need. Liz and Chris are amazing hosts, you can ask them about anything you'd need during your stay. For a first time staying at a guesthouse, this was just an amazing experience.

I had such a wonderful stay! The location was great and the room was very comfortable. Chris and Liz were very welcoming! The food was delicious. As a traveler with Celiac, I felt very comfortable eating both breakfast and packed lunches. I highly recommend Goodwin House.

Another lovely stay with hosts Chris and Liz. We stay here every year in June and would like to say never disappointed. Room is comfy and clean. Recently refurbished to high spec. It's beautiful. Breakfast is great and a big thank you to Chris for his scrambled eggs and salmon which he gets perfectly right! Booked into Room 3 for next year and looking forward to it. Many thanks both.

Chris and Liz are wonderful hosts. The bedrooms are comfortable, the breakfast is lovely (plenty big enough) and they're knowledgeable on the local area so can help when you need a change of plans.

We've stayed at Goodwin House twice and both times its been great!

The rooms were immaculate. I've never had cleaner and more pristine decor in a bedroom and bathroom probably anywhere I've stayed. Very comfy bed with a cosy duvet. I didn't hear a sound all night (real ales probably assisted though!). Breakfasts were superb too - I recommend the avocado with chilli! Chris and Liz are lovely people who were very attentive and welcoming. The complimentary piece of cake to go with a coffee after a day out on the lake was a very welcome and nice touch. The location is great too - only a short walk into the heart of the town. I will definitely stay there again.

B&B was lovely. Breakfast was really nice and filling with a fresh fruit salad every morning and a lovely full english, option of different breakfast the night before for example a sandwich or veggie. Rooms were lovely, with lovely shampoo and conditioner. Hosts were lovely and welcoming. Offers of dinner and lunch if we wanted as well. Partner is Gluten Free/Coeliac and this was all catered for. Would 100% stay again.

Been visiting Goodwin House now for the last 5-6 years and it never disappoints, rooms are spotless, fantastic breakfast and a great location for walking into town, the weather also behaved which is a nice bonus, hopefully won’t be too long until the next visit

This was our third stay at Goodwin House. Chris and Liz are really warm, friendly hosts and do great breakfasts with lots of choice. Goodwin House is well located just 5 minutes walk to the centre of town in a nice quiet location. We look forward to our next visit.

Great location and close enough to walk into the town centre of Keswick. This was my first time staying at a Guesthouse and Liz and Chris were wonderful hosts. The bedroom was comfy and clean and the breakfasts were great. I would stay here again.
