Exploring Keswick Sustainably.

Once you’re here, there’s really no need for a car. Keswick is a compact, walkable town with Derwentwater, Hope Park, Fitz Park, Crowe Park and the Theatre by the Lake just minutes from the market square. For those wanting to head out on the hills the walking routes take you directly to Walla Crag, Catbells, Skiddaw, Latrigg and Blencathra.

For exploring further afield, the local bus network makes it easy:

  • Borrowdale and Seatoller – gateway to Scafell Pike and some of the best valley walks.
  • Buttermere and Honister Pass – dramatic mountain scenery, best enjoyed without the stress of narrow roads and limited parking.
  • Grasmere and Ambleside – charming villages perfect for a day trip.

Travelling this way not only reduces emissions but also means you can relax and enjoy the views instead of worrying about winding lanes and crowded car parks.
